In mid May 2016 I went on a pelagic bird watching trip on a boat off the bottom end of New Zealand’s north island int Palliser Bay. Albatross, Mollymawks, shearwaters and petrels galore. The Alberts and Mollies were stunning, and present in huge numbers. At one stage we neared a trawler hauling up a catch and someone counter 80 from the albatross tribe on view at once.
